One of the popular tourist attractions, the most in Paris, the Arc de Triomphe was built in 1806 to commemorate the battles victory of Napoleon Bonaparte. Stands 164 feet and 148 feet (50 meters by 45) and wide, to the features of the arc complex reliefs depicting the victorious battles and the names engraved many of those who died fighting for the emperor. Under the arch is the tomb of the unknown World War I soldier.
